Frostburg State Men’s Soccer Falls to 6-6-1
Frostburg State University (FSU) Men’s soccer takes a loss this past Wednesday after traveling to West Liberty to play the Hilltoppers.
The game started with shots taken by FSU. Fortunately for West Liberty, none of them succeeded in finding the back of the net. Fouls were being handed out for both teams throughout the first half, but none were so serious as to be carded. The first half ended in a 0-0 tie and the keepers from each team kept a clean sheet.
At the start of the second half, Frostburg came out with a passion. They took more shots than West Liberty, but again, none made it into the net. Unfortunately for Frostburg, senior goalkeeper Joel Assal picked up a back pass from one of his players. This gave West Liberty an opportunity to score, and that opportunity they took. The game became 1-0 West Liberty. Frostburg tried to counter, taking as many as 7 shots on goal in the last 15 minutes of the game. The game ended with West Liberty beating Frostburg 1-0.
Frostburg ends the game with a 6-6-1 record, and will play Notre Dame (OH) on Sunday, October 24 at 12pm.
