Frostburg Women’s Basketball Game Against West Virginia Wesleyan

On Saturday, November 20th, Frostburg’s women’s basketball team traveled to West Virginia Wesleyan (WVWC) for their fourth game of the season.

The first quarter set the tone for the game as both teams played intensely. Junior, Maggie Sharp, set the pace with a three-pointer along with rebounds from Arianna Briggs-Hall and Shelby Funchees. A foul was called on Frostburg letting WVWC take the lead by the end of the quarter. The second quarter allowed more points for Frostburg as fouls against WVWC were called allowing free throws. Junior Ciara Thomas lead Frostburg in drawn fouls.

By the third quarter, Frostburg began to make a comeback with points from Dombroski and Hall. The Bobcats were still down in the fourth quarter until Dombroski gained points for Frostburg. WVWC responded with intensity looking to keep their lead in the game. The end of the game resulted in some free throws for WVWC having the final score come to seventy-three to sixty-seven going to WVWC. The Bobcats play again at home against Davis and Elkins on Tuesday, November 23rd.
