Frostburg Women’s Soccer Defeats Alderson Broaddus

Frostburg State University (FSU) Women’s Soccer beat Alderson Broaddus at home, Wednesday, October 27th. Beating Alderson Broaddus allowed for the Bobcats to clinch the Mountain East Conference North Division title. This also solidified that no other team in the North Division can catch up to the Bobcats in points this year. The Bobcats record is now 11-3-1

The game on Wednesday ended with a score of 3-0. Goals were scored by Audra Curtin, Mackenzie Alonso, and Dezirae Mortimer. The first goal, scored by Curtin, was assisted by Carolyn DeSena. Cat Smith passed DeSena a perfect ball up the wing. From there, DeSena dribbled in towards the net who found a wide open Curtin in the box, effectively finishing the ball.

Alonso scored the second goal of the game right before halftime, doing so by capitalizing on the defenders’ mistakes and dribbling towards the net. She shot the ball and hit the bottom right corner. The last goal was a penalty kick scored by Mortimer. Heather Finney received a ball in the box and got taken down by an Alderson Broaddus defender. Mortimer then lined up for the penalty kick and shot it into the lower left corner while the Alderson Broaddus goalie went in the opposite direction.
