Homecoming Weekend for FSU Volleyball

We’ve reached Frostburg State University’s Homecoming 2022!

Bobcats Football handled business on Saturday afternoon, and Volleyball was the only sport left to make this a weekend of complete victory.

The Frostburg Volleyball team competed in two games over the weekend and came out with one win on Friday against the West Virginia Wesleyan (WVW) Bobcats.

Frostburg dominated against Wesleyan. In the first of their 3-0 win over West Virginia, FSU went on a stretch of seven straight scores to take the first win. From there it was smooth sailing for the FSU Bobcats. The women would steal the next two games convincingly. West Virginia never broke 17 points.

The FSU scoring leaders against the Wesleyan were Beverly Braun with 11 points, Joie Allen with 7.5 points, and Hayley Delor with 5.5 points.

On Saturday, FSU would not be as fortunate. The Davis and Elkins Senators came to Frostburg and gave the Bobcats very tough competition. FSU was able to push the game into four sets, just like every other match, it is best 3 out of 5 sets.

The Bobcats were able to win the third game off two excellent service aces from Bianca Smalls. After that game, the volleyball team tried their best but came up short scoring 24 to Elkins’ 26.

FSU has the opportunity to bounce back again on Tuesday, October 11th.
