LeAnn Rimes Performs At Frostburg State University
On Sept. 22 Frostburg State presented a full house at the LeAnn Rimes concert. Rimesis a Grammy winning singer, songwriter, actress, and amazing author. Her songs range from country to pop. She has won numerous awards for her singing and creativity. The audience at Frostburg State welcomed her with great energy and enthusiasm.
Rimes and her guitarist, Greg, entered the stage and started off the show by singing “Love Line” off her album Remnants. After her first song, she talked about her flight. When she arrived, everyone wanted to hug her, and she loved how people were treating her and welcomed her to Frostburg.
She then sang her song, “One Way Ticket”, which is on her Blue album and her recent EP called Re-Imagined that came out on June 20. She then performed a song she recorded when she was eleven years old that everyone knew called “Blue.”
The crowd really loved her next song called “Nothin’ Better To Do.” It was an energizing song that everyone enjoyed. Rimes told everyone about all the love she had been getting since she arrived in Frostburg, which brought her to her song “Love Is Love Is Love,” also on her Remnants album. She asked everyone to join her, and they did as they repeatedly sang “Love Is Love Is Love.”
After a couple of songs, everyone was cheering and someone yelled “I want to hug you!.” She laughed and said, “come here dude,” and he yelled, “Are you serious?.” He ran up to the front and gave her a hug.
She started to sing “Borrowed,” which is also on her EP and “Life Goes On.” She said, “it’s awesome I get to put my feelings into my songs, the guy that pissed me off a few years ago, that was for him.” The audience laughed, and Greg said, “Were you talking about me?.” She jokingly responded, saying, “I don’t know maybe you pissed me off recently and I combined the two in a subliminal message.” She gave him a hug as everyone laughed.
Before she left the stage, she took the crowd on a musical journey and sang songs from “I’m Every Woman” by the late Whitney Houston to “Respect” by the late Aretha Franklin. She took a bow and exited the stage. The audience applauded so long that she came back out and sang another song called “The Story.”
After that song, someone in the audience shouted “two more songs!.” Another one followed and said, “ten more!”. Rimes laughed and started singing “Amazing Grace.” She blew kisses to everyone and exited the stage.
