Looking for an Internship?

Resilient Utilities Now! (RUN!) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit, tax-exempt organization focused on protecting US critical infrastructure from rare but foreseeable catastrophic failure. As you will see, our focus is on promoting practical, affordable policies and programs that address those potential dangers to the infrastructure on which our society is entirely dependent.

We are looking for students who want to engage in our remote/hybrid internship program. Our goal is to support every student’s academic and career goals and our organization’s objective by collaborating on projects relevant to their interests and capabilities.

The kind of academic disciplines we believe could be a good match with our plans include:

  • Engineering

  • Energy Policy and Political Organizing

  • Nonprofit Administration and Fundraising

  • Website Development

  • Marketing Communications

  • Graphic Design

  • Journalism

  • Law

  • Project Management

  • Theater Arts and Filmmaking

You can find a more comprehensive list of work experiences that are most germane to our strategic plan here:

Detailed potential internship responsibilities

In addition to our website, we have recently established, though not promoted yet our initial digital presence on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram. Interns will have the opportunity to develop and help manage these and other platform pages and learn how to use popular project and collaborative management applications such as Asana and Slack.

After developing our strategy last summer we established a pilot internship program in order to determine how best to design a remote internship program that would justify the time, effort, and mutual commitment of the students, university sponsors, and our staff.

We believe we have done so, as do our interns, and would be happy to put you in touch with one of them for your reference. We are also happy to say that based on that experience, one of these students is receiving academic credit for their work this semester and others may be eligible as well with the approval of an academic advisor at Frostburg State University.

If you or someone you know is interested in this internship opportunity, please contact one of our two FSU interns whose contact information is listed below.
