Looking Forward to Theatre and Dance Fall 2019

Coming soon to the Performing Arts Center to kick off their fall season is, “Alabama Story”, inspired by real events, 2019 marks the 60th anniversary of the political and legal battle that ensued after a children’s book married a white rabbit with a black rabbit. With racial and legal tension throughout, this production is sure to put you on edge when it comes to The Drama Theatre weekends of Oct. 11 and Oct. 17.

“Dear Edwina” follows quickly behind, opening on Nov. 1 with a second show on Nov. 2. This musical production is telling the tale of a young girl who’s passion lies in advising others. She answers questions with song and dance, offers advice for your deepest queries and truly has a gift for helping others. Bring the kids to see “Dear Edwina.” They may learn a thing or two!

A not-so-happy holiday show continues the season on Dec.  5-8 in Lyric Theatre presenting, “Scrooge in Rouge” a take on “A Christmas Carol” where everything goes wrong: a cast with food poisoning failed costume changes, missed cues and failed transitions. This production will not be family-friendly, however, it will be very enjoyable for the older members of the family to attend. No longer pretending the holiday season is Pinterest perfect gifts, and Emmy worthy caroling, this is the holiday where everything that could go wrong does.

Scrooge will bring us to the end of our fall semester productions. This 2019 Fall semester season is promising, mark your calendars and be ready for what’s to come! For more information look on Theatre and Dance’s page on the Frostburg website.
