March 26 – April 1

3/26/14 Breaking & Entering: Officers were dispatched to the Fine Arts building, room 126A, for a report of a theft of a laptop computer. Stolen items have been entered into NCIC. Investigation continuing.

 

3/26/14 Theft: Visual Arts employee reported an accordion, red in color with tan keys, was stolen from her office in Fine Arts, room 203. Victim stated the last time she saw the accordion was on 3/16/14 and did not notice it missing until the morning of 3/24/14. Investigation continuing.

 

3/26/14 Theft: Student reported a theft that occurred in the Performing Arts Center, room 203. According to the victim, the morning of 3/25/14 she was in the PAC building, room 203,  she had a Samsung Galaxy 2 inside of her bag when she arrived and when she returned several hours later, discovered it had been removed from her bag. Investigation continuing.

 

3/26/14 Alarm: Officers responded to an alarm at the English Language building, 150 Center St., for automatic alarm activation.  The alarm was determined to be a malfunction.

 

3/26/14 Traffic Accident:  While patrolling in a marked police cruiser north on Braddock Road the officer felt a deer hit the driver’s side rear of the police vehicle.  Minimal damage and no injuries reported.

 

3/26/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Cambridge Hall for a reported odor of marijuana. Upon arrival, officers were able to detect a faint odor of suspected marijuana in the common area of the second floor, however could not smell anything in any of the quads on that floor or anything emitting from any of the rooms. Resident Assistant notified.

 

3/26/14 DWI/DUI: Officers made an arrest following a stop for traffic violations on Braddock Road.

 

3/27/14 Suspicious: An Appalachian Environmental Lab employee, 301 Braddock Rd., reported on 3/26/14 between the hours of 9am and 10am, two male subjects entered the building and were observed walking around the first and second floors of the building, as well walking into different office areas. Both subjects were very limited in their conversations with staff. The individuals were described as black males, one wearing a black coat and the other a green coat, each wearing hoodies underneath their coats, possible suspect vehicle medium to dark colored Cadillac.

 

3/27/14 Breaking & Entering: English professor contacted police headquarters to advise a laptop had been stolen from her office in Dunkle Hall.

 

3/27/14 Crime Prevention: Officers spoke to the Appalachian Lab staff at 301 Braddock Rd. about security measures within the building.

 

3/27/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers conducting a follow-up for  a burglary case at the English Language Center, 150 Park Avenue,  located a vehicle that matched the description of the suspected vehicle driven by two suspicious male suspects seen inside the 301 Appalachian Laboratory on 3/26/14. Following a consent search officers located prescription medications improperly packaged.  Individual was determined not to be involved in the thefts. Director of International Education was notified. No charges filed.

 

3/27/14 Alarm: Officers responded to the Appalachian Lab, 301 Braddock Rd., for unauthorized entry alarm activation. There were no signs of forced entry or anything mischievous. Officers conducted a premise check of the building.

 

3/27/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Cumberland Hall, for a reported CDS complaint. Following a consent search CDS and CDS paraphernalia were located.  Investigation continuing.

 

3/27/14 Ordinance – Open Container: Officers while patrolling Alley 33 issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place.

 

3/28/14 Drug Law Violation: Cumberland Hall Resident Assistant reported a strong odor of marijuana coming from a room. Officers responded and determined the smell was unfounded.

 

3/28/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police with a traffic stop in the Annapolis parking lot. Officers cleared as no additional assistance was needed.

 

3/28/14 Assist Other Agency: Frostburg City Police requested officers respond to Duncan’s Bar, E. Main St., for a large crowd of people moving out of the area. Officers responded and no police action was taken by this agency.

 

3/28/14 Information: A citizen approached officers conducting the school crossing at College Ave and University Dr.,  and advised there was an accident that just occurred on College Ave. Frostburg City Police were aware of the situation and had officers already on scene.

 

3/28/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to the area of E. College Ave. to assist the Frostburg Police Department with a reported motor vehicle collision, involving a FSU AmeriCorps van. The FSU Motor Vehicle Collision Information form was completed. No injuries reported.

 

3/28/14 Theft: While executing a search warrant on a gray 2002 Cadillac, a wallet belonging to a Biology professor that was reported stolen was found.  Operator of the vehicle was charged with numerous recent thefts from the campus of FSU.

 

3/28/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted Frostburg City Police with issuance of a civil citation on Wood St.  One male subject was issued a civil citation for open container.

3/28/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Frostburg City Police in locating an attempt ATV that fled to Welsh Hill area.

 

3/28/14 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke with individuals at a Wood St. residence about excessive noise.

 

3/29/14 Ordinance – Open Container: Officers patrolling on Maple St. issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place.

 

3/29/14 Knock & Talks: Officers spoke with four individuals about drinking alcohol while in the city limits at a Maple Street and Steyer Street address about loud noise and underage alcohol consumption.

 

3/29/14 Ordinance – Littering/Liquor Law Violation: Officers while patrolling on College Ave. issued a Maryland civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage and a Maryland civil citation for Frostburg City Ordinance for littering.

 

3/29/14 Ordinance – Open Container: Officers while patrolling on Bowery St. Ext. issued a civil citation for possession/consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a public place.

 

3/29/14 Knock & Talk: Officers spoke to about five individuals about drinking alcohol responsibly.

 

3/30/14 Liquor Law Violation: Officers issued one civil citation for underage alcohol consumption to a resident of Edgewood Commons.

 

3/30/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to a noise complaint at the Edgewood Commons Apartments. Upon arrival, officers could smell a strong odor of marijuana in the hall. Following a consent search CDS and CDS paraphernalia were located and charges were preferred.

 

3/30/14 Knock & Talks: Officers spoke with 15 individuals about excessive noise on their balcony at Wood St., Frostburg.

 

3/30/14 Assist Other Agency: Anonymous caller reported a large party and requested officer’s check on the well- being of a female subject with short brown hair wearing a pink shirt who has been throwing up blood. Frostburg City Police notified. Officers responded to the area and assisted Frostburg City Police.

 

3/30/14 Liquor Law Violation: Officers were dispatched Edgewood Commons, for a report of a noise complaint involving a large party. Upon arrival, officers observed numerous intoxicated people leaving the building from the area of the 3rd floor. Three subjects were issued civil citations for underage possession. Edgewood Commons Resident Assistants were advised of the disposition of the incident. All involved parties were referred to the Judicial Board for sanctions.

 

3/30/14 Liquor Law Violation: Officers to Edgewood Commons, for a report of a loud party. Upon exiting the elevator, officers could hear loud music one subject was issued a civil citation for possession/consumption on an alcoholic beverage under 21 y.o.a. numerous other occupants in the room were referred to Judicial Board for excessive noise.

 

3/30/14 Alarm: Officers responded to the English Language Center, 150 Park Avenue, for automatic alarm activation. Upon arrival, the alarm reset itself.

 

3/30/14 Request for Officer:  Officers responded to Diehl Hall, for a reported CDS complaint. Officers were permitted to enter the room involved. Upon entering, a slight odor of burnt marijuana was detected. The residents present were identified along with their guests in the room. All individuals were advised that a report would be forwarded to Student Educational Services for further review and disposition.

 

3/31/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Allen Hall after receiving a complaint from the Resident Assistant about the odor of marijuana near a particular room. As officers entered the hallway near the room they were met by the resident who was trying to get into his room as he locked himself out. The student asked if officers would let him into to his room. Upon entering the room the officers could smell the odor of marihuana and saw evidence in plain view. The student was referred to the judicial board.

 

3/31/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Edgewood Commons, for a report of suspected marijuana that was found in a room during a fire safety inspection. Judicial Board Referral submitted.

 

3/31/14 Request for Officer: Officers were called to Cambridge Hall for a report of marijuana odor. No odor of marijuana was detected by the officer.

 

3/31/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers assisted the Allegany County 3CI Narcotics Task Force with the execution of a search warrant.

 

4/1/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Cumberland Hall for a CDS complaint. Upon arrival, officers made contact with residents and detected an odor of marijuana in the room. A search was conducted by officers with negative results. Judicial Board Referral submitted. Resident Director on duty notified.

 

4/1/14 Drug Law Violation: Officers responded to Edgewood Commons, for a report of suspected marijuana that was found in a room during a fire safety inspection. Judicial Board Referral submitted. Director of Edgewood Commons on scene.

 

4/1/14 Assist Other Agency: Officers responded to 146 Wood Street to assist Frostburg City Police with a verbal altercation. Prior to police arrival, Frostburg City Police advised to disregard responding. No further police action taken.
