Men’s Basketball Falls to 2-2 on the Season

The Bobcats picked up their first home win of the season with a 91-78 victory over Penn State Altoona on Nov. 17, but unfortunately lost two games back-to-back and fell to 2-2 over the past week.

The Bobcats’ first victory came against the Lions with an impressive outing from junior guard Lawrence Pettis. Pettis shot 6-of-10 from behind the three-point line, falling just two points shy of 30. He recorded 4 assists, 4 boards, and 3 steals to go with 28 points.

Junior transfer Jordan Dawson managed to double digits again in his second game with the Bobcats, posting 10 points along with 8 boards. First-year man, Nicholas Johnson, also added 10 points to the scoreboard in the remaining limited minutes (17).

The Bobcats out rebounded the Lions 49-33, and Senior forward Edwin Cole led the way with 11 rebounds.

On Nov. 10, the Bobcats traveled to Marietta, Ohio, to face off against the Marietta Pioneers who were undefeated 4-0 heading into the game.

The Bobcats went back and forth with the Pioneers, ending the half 33-33. However, a 20-2 run in the middle of the second half overpowered the Bobcats.

Edwin Cole posted a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds, while junior Daniel Alexander led the team with 17 points in a 84-59 loss to the Pioneers.

Alexander followed up his 17-point performance with another team high (18 points) in the Carnegie Mellon Invitational at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, PA.

Unfortunately, the Bobcats fell short to host Carnegie Mellon 87-73. The Bobcats will play Transylvania(1-3) in the invitational consolation game on Nov. 25, at 1:00 p.m.
