Men’s Soccer Falls to Shepherd
Frostburg Men’s Soccer dropped their first game of the season to non-conference opponent Shepherd University in a 2-0 loss on Thursday, Sept. 5th. Frostburg held the game at 0-0 through the first half, but Shepherd took the lead with goals in 53rdand 64thminutes of the game. The Bobcats led the two teams with 14 shots and 4 shots on goal while the Rams only marked 11 shots with 4 shots on goal. Junior Youness Benmouna led the Bobcats with 3 shots, while first-year players Tamino Brown, Addison Keja, and Louie Kerdock all registered 2 shots with 1 shot on goal. Junior Nilson Ngana also had a shot on goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Joel Assal played in the net for all 90 minutes of the game and faced 11 shots with 2 saves.
The Bobcats (0-1) play their next game on Sunday, September 8that Concord University in Athens, West Virginia. The game marks their first Division II conference play of the year with the kickoff set for 3:30 pm.
