Men’s Track And Field at the AARTFC Championships

The men’s track & field team competed at the 2019 All-Atlantic Region Indoor Track & Field (AARTFC) Conference Championships at Ithaca College with nine student athletes on March 1 to March 2.

On day one, the Bobcat men had two events, with the first event going for the distance medley relay team of first-year Demetrius Sims, junior Jacob Richkards, sophomore Colin Flynn, and senior Robert Romano who ran in the DMR and took eighth place with a time of 10:27.96. Sophomore Clayton Washington ran in the 60m dash, posting a time of 7.18 which is his season’s best.

On day two, Romano ran in the men’s mile run and took home first place with the time of 4:17:01. Senior Shamar Nelson competed in the men’s long jump and took sixth place with 6.88 meters.  The team of senior Matthew Robinson, junior Tyriek Charles, Sims, and Washington ran in the 4×200 and placed eleventh with the time of 1:33.41. Junior John Kerns threw in the weight throw and was placed fourth with a distance of 16.60 meters.

The Bobcat track and field team’s next meet is the Juniata Invitational on March 23 in Huntingdon, Pa.
