Netflix film ‘Fractured’ Review
Netflix continues its October movie lineup with the release of Koji Productions’ “Fractured.” The film is a mystery/thriller directed by Brad Anderson and written by Alan B. McElroy. It stars Sam Worthington “(“Avatar”, “Clash of the Titans”) and Lily Rabe (“American Horror Story”, “Finding Steve McQueen”). “Fractured” was released on Oct.11th.
The film follows Ray (Sam Worthington), his wife Joanne (Lily Rabe) and their daughter Peri (Lucy Capri) as they’re on a road trip for Thanksgiving. The family stops at a gas station where Peri falls from a cliff near a construction site and breaks her arm. The family then rushes to the nearest hospital to get care for Peri. After they reach the hospital, the hospital seems to be everything but helpful. When Peri finally gets the help she needs, things take a turn for the worst when Joanne and Peri are taken downstairs for an MRI. Hours go by and they never return, Ray is left wondering where his family is, and the hospital has no recollection of his wife and child being there at all. This is where everything becomes darker than it originally appeared.
“Fractured” features a lot of norms you see in most psychological thriller or mystery films like paranoia and the failure to accept hurt or loss. The movie certainly plays mind games with the viewer, leaving you asking questions throughout its run-time. People who like films like “The Secret Window” or “Black Swan” will surely be fans of this film.
Although the film has some cliches it’s overall a good watch. It has many twists and turns and keeps the viewer interested. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an interesting thriller film or something to watch while they’re relaxing.
Netflix offers many good TV shows and films and continues to cater to different genres for everyone to enjoy. In the spirit of Halloween for the month of October, they’ve been releasing new horror movies and TV shows every week.
