New Creative Communications Club to Host Second Annual Frosty Awards

On Wednesday, October 28, there was an interest meeting held for the Second Annual Frosty Awards, which will be hosted by a new student organization called the Creative Communication Club, according to Professor Annie Danzi. The mission of the club is “to promote creative communication, as well as, produce small events that lead up to the Annual Frosty Awards show which will help cultivate the culture of CCC. CCC will provide an enjoyable, creative outlet for Frostburg State University.” The club is open to students of all majors.

The Frosty Awards Show is a student produced award show to showcase the creative and derivative work of students of all majors at FSU. Advisor and Professor Annie Danzi brought this idea to the department and she assembled a team of event planners, technical students, and writers to ensure the success of the show. The taping of the show will be airing on FSU TV-3 for the next few weeks. Monday night will be the first airing that will include the red carpet interviews that took place before the show.

Last year, the First Annual Frosty Awards were held by the Department of Mass Communications on May 2.

The meeting had a good overall turnout. Seats were filled as Professor Danzi introduced the room to the CCC executive board that includes seniors Tasia Carter as president and Domonique Elias as vice president.

“I am so excited to be a part of something like this so when I graduate I  know I left my mark on something,” said Elias. “I can look back and say Look what I did.”

All in attendance filled out membership forms after they watched clips from last year’s show in excitement for what the new school year will bring.

With the implication of the CCC students outside of the Communication department will have the opportunity to take advantage of all the department has to offer including the state of the art equipment. This also allows the chance to collaborate with other organization and possibly a way to gain funding.
