Recruiting for TBL

I hope everyone has had a good start to their fall semester!

My name is Gwen Schemm and I am the Editor-in-Chief of the campus newspaper, The Bottom Line.

The Bottom Line is the independent, student news organization that exists to write and report news as it relates to the campus community. Each week, we publish a print copy that can be picked up from stands located throughout campus, while also publishing on our web platform at any point. The Bottom Line strives to publish a newspaper that sparks communication, comment and criticism from the Frostburg community with the highest possible caliber of journalistic writing.

I am currently in the process of recruiting new staff members. We are looking for students that have an interest in journalism or anything that would benefit our organization this upcoming school year! We will take anyone with an interest in writing, photography, editing and graphic design. In our publication, we have three sections of writers:

News
Entertainment
Sports

Each section has their own topics of coverage with the primary intent of informing the community of the information they need to know!

Joining The Bottom Line staff can help you get one step ahead. It offers experience working in the fields of journalism, business and graphic design which enables the development of skills that are transferable to fields you are interested in pursuing in the future. It also looks great on a resume!

There is no specific major requirement to join The Bottom Line. We are looking for anyone who is interested in learning the in and outs of world of journalism.
