Men’s Basketball:

The Bobcats had their season opener on Monday night as they traveled to NCAA Division II Cheyney University in Cheyney, Pennsylvania. The Bobcats earned a 68-64 win over the Wolves. This is the Bobcats first win under new coach, Sean Brown. The Bobcats dominated in their home opener beating Penn State Altoona by a score of 91-78 on Saturday, Nov. 17th.

With a loss against Marietta on Tuesday, Nov. 20th by a score of 84-59, Frostburg dropped to 2-1 on the season. Junior David Alexander led the Bobcats with 17 points while senior Edwin Cole was close behind with 16.

Frostburg fell to Carnegie Mellon in the first game of Carnegie Mellon Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 24th, 87-73. Alexander led the Bobcats with 18 points. They move to 2-2 on the season. Alexander had 26 points for the Bobcats in the consolation game Sunday, Nov. 25th. It was not enough as the Bobcats moved to 2-3 with the loss to Transylvania 82-71 Sunday afternoon to finish out the CMU Double Tree Invitational.

Women’s Basketball:

These Bobcats traveled to Lebanon Valley College on Tuesday and ended up bringing home a 59-41 win for their season opener. Leading offensively for the Bobcats was junior Victoria Diggs with 14 points. She was assisted on the scoreboard by senior Megan Kelly with 13 points and juniors Sydney Stotler and Amanda Emory each with 12 points. The Bobcats host the annual Jim Crawley Classic in the Bobcat Arena over the weekend. The schedule consists of Saturday games against The City College of New York versus Frostburg and Mt. Aloysius versus Christopher Newport. The Sunday game schedule is Frostburg versus Mt. Aloysius and The City College of New York versus Christopher Newport.

Following the first game of the Jim Crawley Classic tournament, the Bobcats progress to 2-0 for their season by earning a 67-44 win over The City College of New York. Senior Megan Kelly led the Bobcats with 13 points. Junior Victoria Diggs followed with 10 points. Behind her was junior Amanda Emory with 9 points and first-year Tatiana Gibson with 4 points. The Bobcats moved to 3-0 on the season with a win over Mt. Aloysius in their game on Sunday. Diggs was named to the All-Tournament team while Kelly grabbed MVP honors.

On Tuesday, Nov. 20th, the Bobcats moved to 4-0 on the season with their closest win of the season coming against Chatham. Kelly made a three-pointer in the last two seconds of the game pulling the Bobcats ahead 66-64.

The Bobcats dropped the opening game of the Marietta Turkey Shoot against Trine by a score of 86-35 on Saturday, Nov. 24th. Kelly and junior Victoria Yoder led the Bobcats with 7 points apiece while first-year Anna Reese followed closely with 6 points, a personal best in her young career. The Bobcats fell to 4-2 in the season with the loss to Hiram College, 83-73 on Sunday Nov. 25th in the consolation game of the Marietta Turkey Shoot.

Men’s & Women’s Swimming:

The men’s and women’s swim teams traveled to Lancaster, Pennsylvania for the annual Franklin & Marshall Invitational. The women finished the first day of the three-day event in 11th place, out of 13 participating teams, with 70 points. The men finished in 10th place out of 11 teams, with 112 points.

Sophomore Luke Holloway took 4th in the 100-yard freestyle and broke the school record with his time of 46.66. He broke a record he previously had set. Junior Elizabeth DeMonte set two new school records. She broke the 1996 record in the 100-yard  butterfly. She broke her own record in the 100-yard backstroke.

Football:

The Bobcats won against Western New England University on Saturday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Division III football playoffs. The Bobcats finished with a score of 42-24. This win puts the Bobcats at 10-0 for their season.

13th ranked Johns Hopkins ended the Bobcats undefeated season on Saturday, Nov. 24th in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Frostburg dropped to 10-1 on the season with the 58-27 loss. The Bobcats led going into the second half with the score 20-19. Johns Hopkins dominated the third quarter with 4 touchdowns while the Bobcats struggled to produce offensively. Frostburg opened the scoring in the fourth quarter, but the Blue Jays lead was too much for the Bobcats.
