Things to do This Spooky Season

We are a little over a week into October and while 2020 has been scary enough, I still have yet to see some spooky season spirit!!! It’s not too hard to get into Halloween, but if you were struggling, here are a few things you can do.

  1. Try a new and exciting makeup look!

Pull out the purples, pull out the blues, go crazy, get some eyeliner too! Add a little glitter, some shimmer, and shine! Halloween is coming, its crazy makeup time!

  1. Hang with your friends and watch some scary movies!

Grab a blanket, some popcorn, and other snacks. Put on a spooky movie or a scary soundtrack. Lean in close as you get reeled in, scream out loud when the main villain wins!

  1. Go for a walk through a haunted house.

Check out the article that lists all the places. Take some friends and put on brave faces. You know it’s fake but it’s okay to get scared. Grab a few friends and just go prepared!

  1. Carve a Pumpkin!

You don’t have to be good at it but pick a silly face. Trace and cut it out on your pumpkin with grace. Embrace the sticky and orangey goo. Bake the seeds for a scrumptious snack too!

  1. Make a costume Pinterest board.

Go thrifting and crafting and pull one together, make yourself a costume fit for any weather. Yes, you may be broke but there are lots you can make. With a spark of creativity, there’s nothing you can’t take.

  1. Indulge in pumpkin-flavored things.

With Halloween comes fall and fall brings pumpkin spice. Enjoy some pumpkin cookies or enjoy them twice. Bake a few pies, loaves of bread, and cakes, just don’t overdo it to prevent a bellyache.

  1. Buy Halloween candy!

Yes, you’re an adult and it seems kind of sad. The time of free candy has since been had, but don’t let it stop you from buying your favorite treat. At this time of year, there are lots you can eat.

  1. Make a scarecrow.

Yes make a scarecrow, you heard that right. Crafting is fun and the décor is a sight. Grab an old sock and paint it, however, make a little hat and put on a smile that’s clever. There aren’t many crows for him to scare away, but the craft itself is a good way to spend the day.

  1. Paint a spooky Halloween scene.

Grabs some friends and all the supplies. Get some apple cider for a nice surprise. Pick a theme and all paint it together, not only is it art but it’s a memory forever.

  1. Get creative!

As you find more things to do, you’ll realize you have to use your head. Just because of college and COVID doesn’t mean the fun can’t be had. Adhere to the guidelines but don’t let the fun stop. Do Halloween activities until you and your friends drop!
