Trial Date Set in Keion Green Case
A jury trial date in the case against Keion Green has been set. Green was a student in November 2019 when he allegedly sexually assaulted another student in her off-campus apartment. Green is charged with second-degree rape, perverted practice, and second-degree assault.
At his initial appearance before Judge W. Timothy Finan on Tuesday, Feb. 11, Green appeared in the courtroom over an hour late for the 9:00 a.m scheduled hearing. As he walked into the courtroom in a plain white t-shirt, ripped light-wash jeans, and a solid black blazer, Green was noticeably chewing gum.
The proceedings began with Mr. Michael Stankan, Green’s public defender, entering a plea of not guilty on his client’s behalf. The State’s Attorney of Allegany County argued there was sufficient probable cause and requested a jury trial date to be set for at least 60 days from the date of the initial appearance.
Judge Finan set a status hearing for Tuesday, April 21 with a full jury trial to begin on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at the Allegany County Circuit Court, located at 30 Washington Street in Cumberland, MD. Members of the public are legally permitted to attend.
