Junior Naya Cheatem reached her career goal of 1,000 kills on the court that night. She totaled 11 kills against the Cougars to reach the milestone. Speaking to The Bottom Line, Cheatem commented on the emotions during her 1,000 kill, “My teammates and coaches were amazing! They made me a banner that said ‘1,000 kills’ and my name. Everyone went crazy.” She was in awe from all of her proud fellow Bobcats. Junior Lindsey Scepura and freshman Cori Smothers also ended the contest with 16 digs each to lead the Bobcats.
This upcoming weekend, FSU’s volleyball team will attend the Susquehanna tournament. The team will play Geneva, Susquehanna, Nazareth, and State University of New York at Geneseo. When asked about the upcoming competition Torres stated, “as long as we come in excited and ready to play our game, no matter what’s going on, on the other side, nothing can stop us from winning.”
