Volleyballs’ Senior Day Against West Liberty

This past Friday, Frostburg State University’s women’s volleyball team had their senior night against West Liberty.

Three seniors started off the game, Raven Pratt, Haley Altemus, and Hannah Jones. During the first set, Frostburg fell behind six to one. Haley Altemus had strong serves which brought the score to seven to four. Junior Jackie Sterenberg was able to keep up the Bobcats’ intensity making a change in the game. Frostburg went up fourteen to seven. The first set ended with the Bobcats falling behind the Hilltoppers at twenty-five to seventeen.

The second set started off with a strong lead by Frostburg but ended with West Liberty securing three more points. By the final set, the Bobcats’ had more urgency, looking to get back points to win the game. Sterenberg led the Frostburg team with eight kills, Braun and freshman Fiona Gonzalez Medina had fourteen digs each, and sophomore Hayley Delor successfully finished with twenty-two assists.

The end of the game resulted in a loss for Frostburg, making their record eight and eighteen, and West Liberty’s nineteen and eleven. The Bobcats play again at home on Tuesday, November 9th, against Notre Dame.
