West Liberty Too Much For Bobcats, Who Lost 114-76

The Frostburg Men’s Basketball team was hoping for a rebound this week after suffering a loss from Notre Dame (OH), the score an unfortunate 74-63. The Bobcat’s have had a streak of losses, leaving the team struggling to get back in the win column after the last seven games. This time, the Bobcat’s would face off against West Liberty in West Virginia, who are fresh back from a win against Concord University, the score a whopping 107-86.

Frostburg started off the game with a bucket early on in the game, but that early lead would soon disappear. The two teams continued to exchange buckets throughout the first half of the game, only for the Hilltoppers to get a decent lead right before halftime. West liberty went on to score 51 points in the first half, with a shooting percentage of 50%.

Going into the second half, West liberty continued their dominance in the second half, achieving 100 points before the final three minutes of the game. Frostburg would try to mount a comeback, but they would end up falling behind and suffering a loss against West Liberty regardless, the ending score being 114-76.

Frostburg Graduate Student, Canaan Bartley, was the lead scorer in the game with 19 points. Agyei Edwards got seven rebounds, the most in the game, and scored around 13 points in the matchup. Frostburg’s loss in this match means that their losing streak increases to 6-19 for the season.

Frostburg’s next game will be against Wheeling on Saturday at 4:00PM, on Frostburg’s campus.
