Women’s Lacrosse Faces Fourth Loss of the Season
The Frostburg State Women’s Lacrosse team has had a rough start to the season. They played their fourth game of the season against Sheppard and lost with a score of 9-11. This season, they also lost to Wilmington (Delaware), Indianapolis, and Davenport. The Bobcats have 13 more games left in the season and can hopefully recover from the 4 game losing streak.
This past Saturday March 5th, the Bobcats played against Shepherd. This game was played on the road at Shepherd in West Virginia. Overall, it was a great effort with goals from Anna Kearney, Cameron Baldwin, Stephanie King, Cammie Schneidwind, Sarah Allgaier.
At the beginning of the game, the Bobcats came out strong and took the lead from the start. Shepherd would respond but the Bobcats would score again. At the end of the first quarter the score was 4-3 with Shepherd in the lead.
In the second quarter, both teams would score multiple goals, ending the first half with a score of 7-5. Shepherd still had the lead. In the third quarter, the Bobcats would end up scoring 2 more goals, but Shepherd scored 4 goals. Frostburg was still trailing behind.
In the final quarter, Frostburg could not catch back up. The Bobcats ended up scoring two more goals, and not allowing any in. Unfortunately, they were 3 goals short of taking the lead.
The Bobcats play again against Walsh (Ohio) Saturday March 12th at 3. This game is away at Walsh where FSU can hopefully get our first win of the season.
