Women’s Lacrosse Falls to McDaniel
On Saturday March 9, the Frostburg State women’s lacrosse team traveled to McDaniel College. The Bobcats fall to 1-3 with the loss, while the Green Terror improve to 2-3.
McDaniel started the game strong by putting in four goals in the first ten minutes of action. With 17:32 minutes left in the first half, junior attack Molly Biggers was rewarded with a free position that resulted in a goal. The score was 1-4 Green Terror.
McDaniel found the back of the net four more times before first-year attack Shelby Brunett scored an unassisted goal at 7:59. The Green Terror closed the first half with two more scores for a 10-2 lead.
In the first six minutes of the second half, McDaniel scored four goals. Biggers scored her second goal of the day at 19:37 to close the gap to 14-3. The Green Terror went on to score four more goals.
With 4:45 left in the second, senior attack Morgan Cavey scored off an assist from Burnett. The Bobcats trailed 18-4.
The final score of the contest was 19-4 with McDaniel taking home the win.
The Green Terror outshot the Bobcats 36-11 and held a 31-8 advantage in shots on goal. Bobcat senior goalkeeper Abigail McClure posted seven saves in the first half, while first-year goalkeeper Sophia Douglas notched five saves in the second.
Frostburg hosts Shenandoah this Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Bobcat Stadium.
