Women’s Volleyball’s Season Ends in MEC Quarterfinals

Frostburg State Women’s Volleyball played Wheeling in a MEC Quarterfinal game, losing to the number one-seed 3-0.

Both teams went back and forth in the first set, with Frostburg eventually taking the lead 11-7 thanks to Haley Delor. Unfortunately, Wheeling stuck back with three straight kills to reduce the lead to one. By the end of the third, Wheeling would win the set 25-22.

In the second set, Wheeling took the lead and kept it as they ended the third 25-8.

In the last set, Frostburg served up an ace, thanks to Bianca Smalls. They also received a block from Beverly Braun and McKaily Thomson-Moran as well as a kill by Braun to make the game 3-0. The game would then go back and forth between the two teams. Wheeling came out of the battle on top with 5 straight points to win the match 25-20.

Frostburg ends the season 9-20. Wheeling moved on in the MEC semifinals and faced West Liberty this past Friday, November 19.
