Frostburg Gives Blue Angels Second Loss of the Season

The Frostburg State University (FSU) Bobcats baseball team gave the New Rochelle Blue Angels their second straight loss to start the season. Frostburg battled back to win 17-13 in an entertaining game.

Frostburg kicked things off in the second inning scoring three times,making the score 3-0 and taking the lead. Senior Jason Paredes and junior Mitch Fyffe hit back to back triples to take the early lead. The Blue Angels then rallied back scoring seven runs in the third and fourth innings.

Frostburg tied the game to make it 7-7  after runs by Fyffe,and sophomores Tre D’Amico, Josh Clegg, and  Bret Fogle. It would be two innings before anymore action.

The Blue Angels scored twice and the Bobcats scored once to make the score 8-9. In the final inning, the score was 8-13. Frostburg picked up momentum to tie the game and kept it driving to pull away scoring nine times in the eighth inning.

Fyffe led the team in hitting: for six times at bat,  Fyffe hit three times, scored three runs, and had two runs batted in. Sophomore Colby Lee led in pitching with seven earned runs allowed, five strikeouts, 3.2 innings pitched, and six wins. Junior Quin Ambeault led the Bobcats in fielding with seven putouts.
