“1..2..3..GO LADY BOBCATS”, as the ladies huddled energetically and shouted these words just before the game started, they were enthusiastic and prepared to gain a win against St. Vincent’s lady Bearcats.

Frostburg State University’s women’s lacrosse team consists of 21 talented student athletes. Leading seniors, Emily Walker, Malory Burnett, Katie Smith, Jessica Norris, Ellie Garner, and Jessica Jones, all help in assisting the team to their victorious wins. So far the seasons record stands as 7-3 after the recently attained victory against St. Vincent.

It was soon after the game started when Senior Malory Burnett scored the opening game point. With the encouragement from the coaches, teammates, and screaming fans, the lady Bobcats were feeding off of the energy being delivered. These ladies not only played with intensity, but also worked as a team ultimately resulting in their victory.

Returning after halftime the lady Bobcats seemed to have brought a new type of energy. After already confidently returning, these ladies were more intense and ready to finish the game strong. Although the lady Bearcats scored four more points before the game was over, they were not able to stand strong against the lady Bobcats who were able to score 8 more points. In regard to the game stats, not only were the lady Bobcats able to cause 20 of the lady Bearcats turnovers, but they were also able to attempt 40 shots where as the lady Bearcats were only able to attempt 12. Because of the Bobcats strong defense, the lady Bearcats were able to be held under control.

The lady Bobcats fell short in their previous game against Mary Washington with the final score of 16-8, which ended the Bobcats winning streak of 6 straight wins. After coming back after the loss and working  harder in this weeks practice, the lady Bobcats were ready and prepared for the battle against St. Vincent.
