The 2020 NFC North
The NFC north teams of today have been fully developed since 1961, so it is quite obvious that their is a lot of history between these four teams. Whatever the matchup is between these four, there is a rivalry. The two of the NFL’s oldest stadiums are Lambeau Field and Soldier Field, home of the Packers and the Bears. Also, there are plenty of legendary players like Bret Favre, Barry Sanders, Mike Singletary, and Randy Moss to represent the NFC north while they were playing.
Green Bay Packers
For the entire 2010s decade, the Green Bay Packers have came in first place at the end of the race each season except for three. By how the first season of this decade is looking, it may be the same case throughout the 2020s. The Packers are 7-2 right now tied for first place in the conference let alone the division. They will try to remain atop the NFC with a win against the Indianapolis Colts week 11, but that is a tough task considering Indianapolis just took first place in the AFC south giving them a good amount of confidence, and the Packers struggled more than expected with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears sit at .500 and have been on a losing trend since they gave a good, but losing effort versus the Saints week eight. They will get to take a break week 11 to recuperate, but its back on the field week 12 when they go to Wisconsin to play the division leader, the Packers. After the Packers, the Bears have division match-ups with the Vikings, Lions, and Packers again. Also, they will play the Jaguars and Texans, so the season is very well in their hands if they do what they are supposed to against the Texans and Jaguars, sweep the Lions, and at least split with the Vikings and Packers.
Minnesota Vikings
Apparently a break week seven was all the Vikings needed because after that bye week, they won three in a row, and not just three in a row against anybody. Their three wins came from NFC north opponents which is huge for their standings as they attempt to resuscitate what was a disappointment of a season so far. As the Bears take a bye week 11, this is a perfect chance for the Vikings to move into second place in the NFC north. They have a very winnable game against the Dallas Cowboys, so as long as they stay on this streak of winning they could be on track to place in a wild card spot at the end of the season.
Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions record matches the Minnesota Viking’s, it has jut been a little less impressive. The Lions’ wins have came against team such as the Jacksonville Jaguars, Atlanta Falcons, Washington Football Team. This shows that they can beat the lower ranked teams of the NFL, and they’ll be able to continue to do that against the Carolina Panthers this week. Although they have it good week 11 and 12, the Lions will have to eventually show they can beat a team to the likes of the Buccaneers or Titans if they want to go anywhere with this season. If they do not, take this chance to develop the younger players on the team, and while that may result in losing, Detroit is stocking up for a high draft pick that could possibly change the organization around.
