Women’s Soccer Wins at Home

The Frostburg State University (FSU) Women’s Soccer team only had one game this week which was home on Saturday. The Bobcats played against the Wheeling Cardinals on Homecoming weekend and beat the adversaries with a score of 4-0. This improves the Bobcats win streak to 5. The (FSU) ladies’ record is now 9-2-1.

The first of four goals was scored by Lela Clark. Clark went to take a corner kick and curved the ball in to get the first goal of the game. The next goal was scored by Toni Fiocco-Mizer. Audra Curtin dribbled up the middle and passed it to Fiocco-Mizer in the box who turned and placed the ball in the back of the net. 

Fiocco-Mizer then scored again with a pass from Carolyn DeSena. The last goal was scored by Alexis Pate who turned and beat her defender to secure the 4-0 lead. 

The Bobcats outshot the Cardinals by 31 attempts, with 14 being on net to 5 with 3 being on net. Ashley Bilger had another shutout with help from Stephanie Vigezzi who finished out the second half.

The Bobcats play again this Wednesday, October 20th at West Liberty.
