Crime Lines 09/14/2021 – 09/20/2021

09/14/2021 Assist Other Agency (MSP) – Assisted MSP at Annapolis Hall in reference to speaking with an FSU student regarding a shoplifting incident at Walmart in LaVale Maryland. Contact was made. The subject received a criminal citation.

09/15/2021 Disturbance – Request for Officer. A faculty member requested an officer to assist him with a disruptive male student in Gunter Hall. Officers responded and the FSU student was escorted from the building with no issues.

09/15/2021 Tips – Anonymous caller reporting an FSU student has a gun in the trunk of her vehicle. Officers met FPD on Park Avenue to contact the FSU student for a gun in the trunk of her vehicle. Officers contacted the student who gave consent to search her vehicle. No gun was found.

09/15/2021 Skateboard Complaint – While on foot patrol Officer observed a male subject (non FSU student) riding a longboard on the sidewalk between the CCIT Building and Lane University Center. The subject was issued a verbal warning for the violation of FSU’s no skateboarding rules.

09/16/2021 Request for Officer – An RA from Frost Hall requested to speak with an officer about a male student who was reportedly following several girls around campus and going into their rooms uninvited and trying to get into their vehicles. Follow up resulted in contacting the student who denied any misconduct. Judicial Board referral was submitted.

09/16/2021 Noise Complaint – HQ received a call that the PA system at the football game was too loud.

09/17/2021 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Gunter Hall for a request to have an FSU student removed from the class by the professor. Upon arrival, contact was made with the subject. He was directed to speak with Dr. Crowe regarding the incident and for assistance in finding another class to keep up with his studies.

09/17/2021 Assist Other Agency – Officers assisted FPD at East College and Center with a motor vehicle collision. Information was collected by FSUPD and provided to FPD to enable them to conduct the investigation.

09/17/2021 Assist Other Agency – Officers assisted the Frostburg Police Department with attempting to locate a juvenile male that was involved in an altercation at the Mountain Ridge High School football game. The juvenile was later located. This was a Non-FSU student.

09/18/2021 Skateboard Complaint – While on patrol officers observed a male, FSU student, riding a skateboard in the tennis courts. Contact was made with the individual and he was advised that skateboarding was prohibited on campus. A verbal warning was issued for the violation.

09/18/2021 Assist Other Agency – FSUPD assisted FPD with a large gathering on Wood Street. Officers stood by while the crowd disbursed and FPD contacted the tenants. No problems observed.

09/18/2021 Request for Officer – Officers stood by outside the Appalachian Festival. No issues were observed.

09/18/2021 Disturbance – An anonymous complaint was received regarding a disturbance near HI-Way Pizza. Upon the arrival of FPD and FSUPD, no disturbances were observed.

09/18/2021 Assist Other Agency – Officers overheard radio traffic regarding to a large gathering on East College Avenue. Officers stood by while FPD contacted the tenants and assisted with getting the partygoers to peacefully leave the area. No problems observed.

09/20/2021 Breaking and Enter – While on patrol, Officers observed a black picnic table with two orange cones on either side placed in the middle of Center Street in the area of 7th American. After reviewing the Ocularis system, Officers were able to track six individuals (FSU students) through campus eventually leading to the area behind Cambridge Hall. As they traveled through campus the individuals were removing cones from where they were originally placed and placing them in parking lots and in roadways on their travels. After a check of the area, Officers observed a door on Cambridge that was cracked opened, and a light was emitting from inside. Officers observed three subjects inside the building who did not have permission or authority to enter. These three individuals provided the names of the other three subjects who moved objects around campus. The subjects advised they were bored as to the reason they were moving cones around campus and why they entered the building. Judicial board referral made, and charges are pending.

09/20/2021 Sex Offense – Officers responded to an on-campus residence hall in response to a disturbance complaint. Upon arrival officers located the involved parties and determined that two students were arguing about sexual contact which had occurred between them two days prior. Neither party wished to pursue a criminal complaint. The facts of the case were relayed to the C3I supervisor who advised they would not be conducting follow-up. All information collected was referred to Benjamin Brauer for further Title IX investigation as appropriate.

Summary period includes 173 calls for service and 12 Traffic Stops.
