Crime Lines 09/21/2021 – 09/27/2021

09/21/2021 Theft – Misdemeanor – Officers met with an FSU student at Headquarters who reported his wallet stolen at Edgewood on 8/29. All cards were reported missing /stolen. On September 7th, the FSU student was notified that someone attempted to use his frozen/stolen card. The period consisted of several attempts through 9/7/ through 9/21. The subject was given a Victim’s Pamphlet and advised about the Maryland Fraud website, and how to monitor his credit score. Investigation is ongoing.

09/22/2021 Request for Officer – Headquarters was contacted about a male subject sleeping in a vehicle in the front parking lot of the Appalachian Lab. After contacting the subject, not an FSU student, he advised he was returning to Pennsylvania from the Southern Maryland area and parked to rest. He was provided directions to the nearest park and ride area where he could rest. Subject left the lot as the officer was clearing the scene.

09/22/2021 Suspicious – A “Do Not Enter” sign was located near the entrance of Frederick Hall. The sign had been removed from the intersection of Annapolis Lot Rear and University Drive. With a review of the Ocularis camera system Officers were able to identify two female suspects, FSU students. The investigation is continuing.

09/22/2021 Emergency Phone – Emergency elevator phone contacted Headquarters from Edgewood Commons. Officers responded to find the elevators empty.

09/22/2021 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Frederick Hall to speak with a male FSU student who advised a female acquaintance was making bad posts on social media about him. He was advised to ignore her however if she had any contact with him to contact headquarters.

09/23/2021 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Assisted FPD with an investigation of a hit and run. Contact was made with the subject who is an FSU student. Judicial board referral completed.

09/23/2021 Narcotics Complaint – Officers responded to Annapolis Hall for an odor of marijuana. Upon arrival of the second floor the odor was detected. After a walkthrough of the floors the Officers were unable to determine where the odor was coming from.

09/23/2021 Request for Officer – Officers responded to Westminster Hall for a reported narcotics complaint, a CDS odor. Upon arrival, Officers were unable to detect any odor of CDS however, a strong odor of incense was present. Officers contacted the resident an FSU student of the room in question. The subject was reminded of the rules and regulations in reference to open flames and covering the smoke detector. Judicial board referral submitted.

09/24/2021 DOP – Misdemeanor – Officers responded to Annapolis Hall for a broken window. Contact was made with the FSU student who struck and broke the window. EMS was requested. Upon arrival the subjects wound was assessed and confirmed as a superficial wound. Subject denied transport. Judicial Board Referral Submitted

09/24/2021 Request for Officer – Officers responded to CCIT for a student sleeping on the 3rd floor. The female was identified as an FSU student who advised she was pulling an all-nighter and had her alarm on to start back to work. The subject was transported to the 24 hours lab to finish up studying. Judicial Board Referral submitted.

09/24/2021 DOP – Misdemeanor – Officers responded to the Clock Tower for a disorderly subject. Upon their arrival the officers a male with a laceration on this hand and superficial cuts on his fingers and knuckles. Contact was made with the individual who advised he punched a mirror due to missing a Co-Vid test and being suspended from a sports team for the second time. EMS arrived and transported the subject to UPMC due to the lacerations. Judicial referral submitted, criminal charges preferred for disorderly conduct and destruction of property.

09/25/2021 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – Assisted FPD on Bowery Street with an overdose of a non-FSU student. Narcan was administered, FPD began CPR. EMS arrived on scene and took over treatment. The subject regained consciousness and became alert. Subject was transported to UPMC for treatment.

09/25/2021 Alcohol Violation – Officers responded to Frederick Hall for a disturbance. Upon their arrival, a group of males were gathered in the entrance of Frederick Hall. Contact was made with the male non-FSU student who was yelling and staggering around. This male subject was a guest of a Frederick Hall student. Due to his level of impairment and disorderly actions a citation for the consumption of alcohol under the age of twenty-one was issued. Medical attention was not needed.

09/25/2021 Trespassing – The subject who received a drinking citation earlier in the night was causing a disturbance in Frederick Hall and he broke a TV causing glass in several areas. Contact was made again with the non-FSU student who was advised that based on his actions that he was going to be trespassed from FSU campus.

09/25/2021 Assist Other Agency (FPD) – After Officer overheard FPD responding to an unconscious subject near East College they responded. The FSU student did not respond to her name, nor did she respond to attempts of arousal by medics however the subject was breathing. She was transported to UPMC for treatment of alcohol poisoning.

09/26/2021 Request for Officer – Officers were called to Annapolis Hall for suspected students drinking underage and noise complaint. Officers contacted the students in the room in question. The individuals had turned down the music at the RA’s request before the officers arrived. While speaking with all parties it was apparent that no one was under the influence nor was there alcohol present with-in the room. Due to one male FSU student being non cooperative by providing a false name a judicial board was referred for the one individual.

09/26/2021 Overdose – County Dispatch called HQ to report a seizure patient in Simpson Lot. WMS in-route. Upon Officers arrival the female FSU student advised she had consumed sleeping pills throughout the evening to get some rest. She advised she had no intentions of causing harm to herself, she just wanted to sleep. EMS arrived on scene and the subject was transported to UPMC for further treatment.

09/27/2021 Request for Officer – Housekeepers reported seeing a student riding a scooter in the halls of CCIT. Officers responded and observed several male students sitting at computers on the first floor with an electric scooter beside them. Contact was made and the owner was informed that he was not allowed to ride the scooter inside the building. He was instructed to place the scooter outside to which he complied.

Summary period includes 161 calls for service and 6 Traffic Stops.
