Free Xbox Games in April 2018

Microsoft has revealed which games will be available with their Games with Gold program for April 2018. For anyone who may not know, Games with Gold is a special deal Microsoft offers to Xbox players who have an active Xbox Live Gold subscription. Twice a month, four games (two for Xbox 360 and two for Xbox One) are offered to Gold subscribers for free as a digital download. Once downloaded, players will own the game even if they drop their Gold subscription later.

From April 1 until April 15, Cars 2, a third-person racing game based on the movie, will be available for Xbox 360 for free. The game has received mixed and positive reviews by critics. After that, Dead Space 2 will be available from April 16 to April 30. Dead Space 2 is a science-fiction themed survival-horror game that reviewers have universally given critical acclaim. Additionally, like most Xbox 360 games offered through Games with Gold, Cars 2 and Dead Space 2 are backwards compatible with the Xbox One.

As for the games that will only be available on Xbox One, their release schedule will work a little differently and give players more time to download them. The first game, The Witness, will be available from April 1 until April 30. It is a first person puzzle/adventure game in which the player explores an island. Critics have given The Witness very positive reviews, with multiple publishers awarding the game a 10/10 score. The second game, which will be available from April 16 until May 15, is Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Assassin’s Creed is an action-adventure game in which the player is an assassin who fights an enemy faction called the Templars. Syndicate is the ninth installment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise and has received generally favorable reviews from critics.

Overall, it seems that April will be a good month for Xbox owners.
